GHP News is delighted to announce the 3rd annual MedTech awards, formally known as the GHP Technology Awards, through which we will award those working hard in the Medical Technology field as it becomes even more innovative and advanced.
Medical technology, also known as ‘MedTech’, is intended to improve the quality of medical care we receive through earlier diagnosis, less invasive treatment options and reduction in hospital stays and rehabilitation times. MedTech includes and is not limited to: Medical Devices, Information Technology, Patient Portals, Implant Technology, Orthopaedics, Telemedicine and Mobile Health.
In 2019, the European Patent Office (EPO) received 14,000 patent applications in the field of medical technology representing a 0.9% growth in patent applications to the previous year. Furthermore, the European medical technology industry employs more than 730,000 people. These individuals work to ensure our healthcare professionals can give a higher quality of care.
Established centres of this industry include the United States and Western Europe. But, recent trends show that Asia (more specifically, China) are about to play a more prominent role in the years to come.
During the coronavirus pandemic, the true importance of medical technology has been seen as companies stepped up their efforts to help doctors and nurses treat patients directly. Therefore, the success the Medical Technology Industry has had in the past few, and quite difficult, months is undoubtable.
The MedTech Awards 2020 are open to all businesses, individuals and enterprises operating within the industry, we also encourage participants who facilitate the growth and development of the business community, to take part.
By being nominated for the MedTech Awards, which comes from a trusted and credible source, the business in question can expect to gain invaluable publicity and recognition for the good they do.
This award can also open the business to a whole new pool of potential clients by raising the company profile.
The companies which go on to be successful are presented with several options for further exposure. These include being involved in the annual celebratory, having a mention in our A to Z directory and being included on the GHP News website.
Nominees and winners alike are welcome to promote their accomplishment however they choose to make sure both new and existing clients are aware of what they have managed to achieve.
Should you wish to take part in the MedTech Awards 2020 or know of a company or individual deserving of a place on the shortlist this year, please use our voting form to submit a nomination.

The team work hard in identifying great businesses, driving many of the nominations themselves. The team encourage external nominations from GHP magazine subscribers, web visitors, social media following, clients and wider circulation. Nominating parties are invited to put forward either their own business or third-party companies whom they hold in high regard.
All nominees are formally requested to accept their nomination, all firms and individuals are obviously free to accept or decline if they so wish. Those who formally accept are given the opportunity to submit supporting information. There is no obligation to supply such material, we have found however that many nominees value this stage, in the process, as do our research team.
Our dedicated research team assess all information presented to them. The team gather information independently from a variety of publicly accessible sources, which are assessed alongside any material supplied by a nominating party or by the nominee themselves. The research team casts their final judgment based on various criteria such as great contribution to the global healthcare or pharmaceutical industries, longevity, diversification, sustained or continued growth, significant innovations, feedback from patients and customers etc.
Once winners are selected, they are personally notified before any public announcement is made, allowing time for any communications throughout the wider business and the coordination of marketing strategies. Unfortunately, not everyone can be a winner; however, all who take part are encouraged to come back next year. Once the press embargo is lifted, details of our award winners will be made public via the GHP website, award winners’ magazine and subscriber newsletter.
We offer a range of promotional packages and items to GHP award winners, these vary from inclusion in the free-of-charge winners’ directory, trophies, content in our magazine and content on our website.
We encourage winners to publicly announce their win independently in order to gain maximum exposure. Announcements via company websites, blogs, social media, via publicly released press releases, and through local and national press are all great ways of maximising the exposure which can be gained from such a great achievement. If you have need of further advice on how to publicise your win, please feel free to get in touch.
Here you will find detail of our award winners. All featured winners are included in our digital awards magazine published here on our website and distributed to the circulation of Global Health & Pharma (GHP). All winners are included in our winners’ directory which is held here on the website.
