It is also the little things that matter, like their favourite brand of drink or chocolate to their favourite flower or that morning walk they used to take. It is very important to understand the end of life care for each resident. Everyone is different, and everyone has different thoughts on their end of life from it being religious or spiritual or having all the family with them.” As he looks to the future, Mike foresees a range of developments within the care space which will offer both Fernhill House and Majesticare the chance to enhance their collective success. “Within the care industry, the future really lies with technology, which is improving all the time in terms of software which helps with monitoring and auditing, medication and treatment delivery. There are sophisticated developments in terms of beds and mattresses which effect positional change so manual handling which has potential to damage the nurse/ carer and/or the recipient.
