46 GHP / 2019 Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Awards , NeuroTransData GmbH: Best Neurology & Psychiatry Network 2019 – Germany & Leading Provider of Digital Health Solutions - Germany Supporting fully digitalized sites distributed all over Germany, NeuroTransData (NTD) is a physicians’ network in the fields of neurology and psychiatry. To celebrate the firm’s success in the 2019 Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Awards we offer an overview of the range of services it provides to this diverse network. As a pioneer in digitalisation and personalized medicine, the NTD network has established a registry database back in 2008, which includes different neurological and psychiatric indications such as depression, dementia, epilepsy, migraine, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson and motor disorders, and schizophrenia. The focus currently is on migraine and multiple sclerosis. From 2008 to 2016 NTD has extended the registry database to a complete patient management system called DESTINY (database-assisted therapy decision support system) containing several modules to support doctors in the assessment of medical data, improve the interaction between doctor and patient (bidirectional data exchange, electronic patient file, app) and enable continuous therapy control and optimization. This results in enhanced treatment success and a reduction of healthcare costs. The whole concept was developed by doctors, for doctors, based on their practical experience as treating physicians. The central part of DESTINY, the NTD Registry Database, has been active since 2008 and since then it has been continuously used for patient documentation by all practices of the NTD network. The therapy optimization module for Multiple Sclerosis, which recommends a review of the current therapy to the doctor when certain thresholds are exceeded (e.g. EDSS, relapse rate, quality of life), was launched in 2013 in the NTD network. One of the key projects and sophisticated modules within DESTINY is the predictive model PHREND (Predictive Healthcare with Real-world Evidence in Neurological Disorders), an award-winning software developed by PwC and NTD combining artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics technology, medical insight and human-centered design to make the treat- ment of Multiple Sclerosis more effective and cost-efficient. PHREND connects different disciplines and resources to provide patients and their physicians with a data-based second opinion in the treatment process. Thanks to its accurate predictions and straightforward integration in the existing hospital environment, the personalised healthcare solution enjoys wide acceptance within the medical community. As a result of these innovative digital solutions, NTD physicians have been working in a highly digitalized environment for more than 10 years now and are always looking for new opportunities to improve upon the existing system. In Germany there is no other network that can look back on such a long successful history, and as such NTD is proud of how far it has come, but the network is always exploring new solutions and initiatives that will drive it to even greater success. Currently the network consists of more than 70 sites and 180 physicians treating about 600,000 patients per year. As a network of doctors, NTD was able to develop its innovative DESTINY solution with doctors in mind. The registry database and the different modules contained in DESTINY have been utilised by doctors in their everyday practice for several years and are continuously updated and improved. In contrary to other solutions, DESTINY therefore has high usability and practicability and can be easily integrated in the day-to- day work of doctors.
