Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Awards 2021

GHP / Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Awards 2021 95 , Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) is desired and needed across many industries. It provides businesses with the ability to work seamlessly, thanks to the optimal conditions for any job. We talk to TAYRA’s HVAC Project & TeamCoordinator Paul Gerard O’Donohoe about all that the firmhas achieved. Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) is an important and essential solution to a plethora of problems. From keeping food fresh to keeping people’s health in top condition, HVAC systems are changing the industries of today. TAYRA’s HVAC Project & Team Coordinator, Paul Gerard O’Donohoe says, “The principal objective has been to achieve maximum indoor air quality by ensuring the best possible occupancy health and comfort criteria.” Established in 2004, TAYRA is a team complimented by more than 40 years of experience in the field of air conditioning and refrigeration and installation. This experience has translated to the intricate “development of the state-of-the-art HVAC solutions, where the wellbeing and health of the occupants as well as the minimal environmental impact has been set as a priority in the system and product application,” Paul explains. He adds, “TAYRA has implemented a holistic approach to also reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint of the building whilst improving its life cycle costs.” With products that respond to the needs of the customer and by investigating indoor environmental requirements, TAYRA is understanding the needs in each sector that it works with. Paul tells us, “Energy consumption of HVAC systems in all building types accounts for 25% of all primary energy consumed in the world. If we also consider the huge impact indoor environments have on people’s health, it is of paramount importance that new more concise strategies in energy use and building design allow us to create safer and cleaner environments both indoor as well as outdoors.” With all of this in mind, TAYRA saves energy for buildings throughout industries around the world. From hospitals to hotels, industrial buildings to food processing facilities, museums to maritime transport, and more. What’s more, with even more need to keep things clean and sanitised, TAYRA has become essential to so many businesses. “During the COVID-19 pandemic there has been a paradigm shift in awareness about the importance of “healthier breathing spaces” resulting in that our technological developments will now have a much wider acceptance and application,” says Paul. With its research into infection and pathogens, TAYRA addresses the issue right at the source. “It is now widely accepted that more 80% of infections from SARS- COV-2, or other possible airborne pathogens, are via respired aerosols. During the COVID-19 pandemic TAYRA has been actively involved in the development and application of ventilation strategies coupled with Cold Plasma Bipolar Ionization technology which were used as an agent for inactivating airborne pathogens in the breathing space.” TAYRA’s research allows it to create a safer working environment for everyone. In light of the pandemic, and with SARS-COV-2 in mind, TAYRA has developed something sustainable, high-quality, and effective in a short period of time. “We are presently developing ventilation strategies for indoor environments which will allow us to detect in real time the presence of pathogens and inactivate them, in less than 10 minutes. Not only do we have to create technologies for Leading Specialists of Indoor Air Quality Control Systems - Europe healthier indoor environments, but we should also prove to the end user, in real time, that they are in a safe environment.” As the team at TAYRA are constantly investigating indoor environmental requirements, it creates a solution to every problem. It works with a selection of universities across Europe for a better scope of research. When it comes to all aspects of HVAC, from functionality to energy and money efficiency, TAYRA has a one-stop solution for all. Its services and products all include evidence of its pristine research skills and it will only continue to research and develop for the future of clean, efficient air.
