Oral Health and Dentistry Awards 2020

6 GHP / 2020 Oral Health &Dentistry Awards , Nov20426 Banning Dental Group is a state-of-the-art multidisciplinary dental group specialising in orthodontics, periodontics, implants, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Following its well-deserved success in the Oral Health &Dentistry Awards 2020, we got in touchwith Dr Azad Eyrumlu to find out more. Best UK Dental Practice 2020 Established in 2018, Banning Dental Group aim to create a dental environment that ensures clients are welcomed, relaxed and comfortable. To start, Dr Azad Eyrumlu provides a brief overview of the firm and offers more insight into some of its values. “Banning Dental Group has a simple motto: Forget everything you have heard, seen, and felt about dentists. With such calm and welcoming atmospheres, our practices are anything but ordinary with the designs bringing residential comfort into a dental space. Expressing our ethos through spatial design and bespoke furniture creations, every detail of our practices has been carefully planned. Inspired by the Scandinavian way of living, we planned each space with interior designers to allow for larger waiting rooms and surgeries, and to create open and spacious treatment rooms, with plenty of natural light. Each waiting room and staff area have hand-drawn illustrations of moving birds signifying unity, expression, and freedom. “Prior to launching Banning Dental Group, we could see first-hand how limited the quality of treatments had become. Equally, private dentistry was very expensive and out of reach for many patients. Since then, this is how the idea of Banning Dental Group came alive, to create high-quality, yet affordable dental practices without any compromises and in the best interests of our patients and local communities.” Across the UK the group regularly face competition in the dentistry field, however as Azad informs us, its availability for patients and specialist treatments allow them to distance themselves from the crowd. “Open seven days a week, we are able to provide emergency dental care outside our regular working hours. When our practices are closed, all calls get diverted to an out of hours treatment coordinator who will answer calls until early in the night. Additionally, we can provide all major dental specialist treatments in-house thanks to our GDC registered specialists who apply a multidisciplinary approach to each treatment. General dentists are encouraged to discuss their cases with our specialists to ensure appropriate referrals are made when necessary and to reassure the patients that each case has been planned with the input of specialists in different fields.” To ensure the group is always offering the best dental treatments, the training of its staff has played a critical role in this regard as Azad explains further. “Through regular meetings and our own academy, we educate, train and support our clinicians and other dental practices that wish to participate in our training. With the recent guidelines on social distancing, we have developed our website and created a training room with previous videos we have pre-recorded. Each member of the team undergoes extensive inhouse training, whether it is treatment planning around complete care or training in customer service for our reception staff. Each team member is trained to provide the best service possible which includes the demonstration of standard operating procedures. With every detail of the patient journey carefully planned, each member of the team knows their importance. Incentivised through group acknowledgment, the team very much feel that they are part of a family. Furthermore with a considerable presence on social media, we want each team to be involved in making videos, pictures, and have an input in the posts that we display on our page.” Despite the outbreak of COVID-19, Banning Dental Group has managed to adapt to the pandemic by putting a number of measures in place, as Azad points out. “To allow patients to see our decontamination process, we have built our rooms in glass. During lockdown in particular, this is something which has become increasingly important. In addition, with our treatment rooms all having electric blinds, by-passers can see for themselves how everything has been setup to reduce anxiety.” Finally, Azad comments on the benefits of the group’s location before outlining some of its plans moving forward. “Based in London and the South East, we believe the demand for quality, yet affordable dentistry is high in the area and with millions of people living here the need for a different kind of dentist is big. In 2021, we will continue to expand with new practices and branches.” Company: Banning Dental Group Contact: Dr Azad Eyrumlu Website: www.banningdental.co.uk
