GHP Q1 2021

GHP / Q1 2021 25 , Oct20597 FKPro is a suspension training systemused by elite sports professionals and in sports medicine. Following the firm’s well-deserved success in the Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Awards 2020, we got in touchwith CEO Peter Faulkner to find out more. A Second Chance At Life Appropriate for all ability levels including beginners, basic gym users and elite athletes, FKPro can be used virtually anywhere, is light and easily portable. To begin, Peter provides a brief overview of the firm and offers more insight into its clientele. “FKPro is a two strap, suspended bodyweight system to aid weight loss, core stability, flexibility, power, balance, stamina and strength. Recently. we have collaborated with World Rugby on their global education program, working in association with the GB Equestrian World Class programme. After working with a range of GB teams pre2012, we became the official supplier to the English Institute of Sport. The FA, RFU and a range of Premiership Rugby and football teams are typically some of the clients we serve in addition to British, European, Commonwealth, World and Olympic champions.” Suspension training systems bring great benefits to athletes worldwide, however as Peter informs us, FKPro offers a rather unique selling point with its target audience being much more varied compared to others. “Naturally, our message is more of one-to-one communication rather than mass communication. Typically, we focus on quality over quantity, however as an open product we can add to it as needed. From the outset, we wanted a product that could be used by everybody, from children, the elderly, the disabled and world champions alike. The body sling attachment was designed for Will Bailey MBE, to allow him to get into a deep squat position, which he couldn’t do without that support. Fortunately, this worked so well, and we use it with everyone now. It allows us to add the vibration, force gauges, neck harness, body sling and many more.” Remaining at the forefront of emerging industry developments has been one of the key factors behind the firm’s success, and as Peter points out, R&D has been crucial in this regard. “As the founder of the company, I constantly find myself working on R&D to develop new ideas for different attachments. While some of our competitors are focused on adding things that are already on the market, we are focused on things that genuinely add to our clients’ needs.” In addition to the vibration attachment, the firm has recently been working on other projects elsewhere as Peter elaborates further. “The portable force gauge can be used in clinics, it doesn’t cost thousands of pounds and you do not require a lab to test clients. It can be attached to the door, and you test from there. If you’re not assessing, you’re guessing.” One of the biggest challenges has been when a company with a massive advertising budget has come in to buy the market. However, as Peter goes on to explain, there are flaws to adopting that approach which the firm would rather avoid. “Even if the product has its flaws, mass advertising will always hide that. On the flip side, we will continue to keep doing it right, and with the quality the industry deserves, with confidence, reliability and responsibility.” Finally, Peter discusses the firm’s most significant breakthroughs before outlining some of its plans for 2021 and beyond. “Supplying EIS who look after the Team GB athletes and collaborating with World Rugby after our research was presented at the IOC’s World Conference on illness and injury prevention are two things we are particularly proud of. However, our biggest success is having people say, ‘we have given them their lives back’. “Moving forward, we are currently talking to different distributors to take us on the global market, but that is as much as we can say on that, at this time. In addition, we are looking to bring the rehabilitation aspect of our training, not only to larger clinics, but also to small clinics that are limited by space. We will be looking to do that through a range of governing bodies.” Company: Fitkitpro International Ltd Contact: Peter Faulkner Website: www.fkpro.co.uk
