GHP Q2 2022

56 GHP Q2 2022 Dr Sherif Wakil is the founder of Dr SW Clinic, located in Harley Street, London, and he has performed more than 19,000 minimally invasive aesthetics procedures to date. He has introduced a number of new treatments to the UK, including the P-Shot and the O-Shot, with which he has treated more than 14,000 men and women for sexual dysfunction. As DrWakil’s clinic wins the title of Aesthetic Practice of the Year, 2022 in this issue of GHP, we explore how he is changing the way people think about sexual health. Leading the Sexual Revolution alph Waldo Emerson once said, “Love of beauty is taste. The creation of beauty is art.” With degrees in both medicine and the arts, this phrase embodies the philosophy that Dr Sherif Wakil applies to his practice. His keen personal interest in art and sculpting helps him to deliver more natural looking results, and this is why his patients travel from all over the world to see him. The mission of Dr SW Clinics is to deliver safe and minimally invasive treatments with natural looking results. Dr Wakil wants his patients to leave his clinic looking younger and fresher and feeling as good as they look. Having introduced treatments such as the Vampire Breast Lift and Vampire Facelift, while also being known for his signature treatments including the Dr SW Facelift and the Organic Facelift, Dr Wakil is a pioneer of the soft surgery approach. He is a master trainer for this concept and was the first practitioner in the UK to introduce soft surgery treatments such as non-surgical blepharoplasty and needle shaping. Dr Wakil understands that each patient and each face is unique and he carefully tailors his treatments accordingly, saying, “I believe in enhancing my patients’ natural beauty so that they look like themselves at their very best. Not different.” Indeed, people may seek to enhance their natural beauty – but what about their sexual wellness? They may spend a lot on creams and treatments to keep themselves looking youthful, but their sexual organs will inevitably succumb to the effects of time, too, whether due to childbirth, menopause, or the natural ageing process. As a result, women can experience loss of sensation, diminished sexual enjoyment, and functional issues in the vaginal region. But they don’t have to suffer in silence. Dr Wakil’s ground-breaking O-Shot is a treatment truly changing the sexual lives of women who are in their 30s and older. The pioneering non-surgical technique uses Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) which is injected into the vagina in order to rejuvenate it and enhance sexual pleasure. Not only this, but it can also improve function and relieve conditions such as stress urinary incontinence. Then, there is the male alternative, the P-Shot, which also uses PRP, and when injected into the penis, triggers stem cells to grow healthy new tissue and blood vessels to increase blood flow and result in a stronger, firmer, longer-lasting erection with improved sensitivity. This can be combined with Dr Wakil’s shockwave therapy, a treatment based on soundwaves, which results in tissue regeneration and revascularisation and leads to improved tissue quality and blood flow. A pump is also provided to the patient, which, by following the protocol, can result in increased length and girth of the penis. Natural testosteroneboosting supplements can also be taken to complete the treatment, if necessary. Each of these treatments are performed within the clinic and usually take between 20 and 40 minutes with no surgery, no side effects, and no recovery time at all. Patients can go straight back to work and even have sexual intercourse within the same day. Dr Wakil takes a holistic approach to his patients; he also focuses on how diet and lifestyle can be adjusted to support patients in achieving the maximum benefit of their treatment. And in turn, so many of his patients lavish him in overjoyed feedback, a true testament to the effectiveness of his treatments which continues to drive him to pioneer within this field. Ultimately, Dr Wakil wants those who are facing problems within their intimate relationships to seek treatment, just as they would with any other health problem. There shouldn’t be any more shame or making it a taboo. He is also urging those wanting help to deal only with well-trained doctors with adequate experience and expertise within the field, in order to ensure they receive efficient, effective, and most importantly, safe treatments.
