Pigg’s Playbarn is part of Apley Farm Shop, in the heart of the Apley Estate in Shropshire. Named one of the UK’s top 10 ‘destination’ farm shops, the site opened in 2011. Named after the Apley Estate farm manager (Mr Pigg), the playbarn is suitable for children aged 0-11. Comfy sofas, free wifi & great coffee make it popular with local parents. There is a variety of other businesses on the site including the Creamery Café, Skylark Nature Trail, Paint & Create (pottery painting & craft), Scotty’s Donkeys & Animal Park, a florist, gift shop, conference room & plant centre. Regular family friendly events are held throughout the year, as well as bushcraft sessions & even an annual sleepover in the Playbarn. It’s clean & airy with an outdoor play space. Hot & cold healthy food & drinks are on sale. Birthday parties can be booked in the whole barn or in the dedicated party room. The playbarn also hosts children’s activities (eg gymnastics) are held weekly.
