2 GHP / Q2 2018 Editor’s Note , Welcome to the Q2, 2018 issue of GHP Magazine, bringing you the latest news and features from across the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. In recent news, on the 9th May 2018, the Metro Atlanta Chamber, Georgia Global Health Alliance and Deloitte announced the launch of Global Health ATL as a collaborative initiative designed to drive Atlanta’s reputation as the “centre for global health.” The initiative’s priorities are to create a health innovation hub in the heart of metro Atlanta and drive impact in areas such as disease eradication, economic development and disaster response. In this month’s issue, Intas Pharmaceuticals announced European Commission approval and completion of its purchase of an Out-licensing basket of products from TEVA. We profiled the transaction as we aim to find out more about Intas’ ongoing achievements. Also in this edition, Urology Partners is dedicated to providing all of its patients with expert advice, patient choice and the very highest quality of clinical care. We spoke to the practice’s four consultants, Neil Barber, Simon Bott, Richard Hindley and Timothy Nedas who each explains what services are offered by the team. Elsewhere in this edition, we take a closer look at how Royal Philips, a global leader in health technology, and US-based Emory Healthcare announced on the 11th May 2018 the launch of a new remote Intensive Care Unit (eICU) monitoring program. The program will be based at the Royal Perth Hospital in Western Australia, and is focused on improving the outcomes of high risk patients and advancing the globalisation of critical care.
