Best Refugee Integration Program - Devon & Cornwall

START utilises the skills of students as the main workforce. A strengths approach and learning organisation culture places high value on students’ capacity together with refugees’ resilience and potential. Many service users take pride in helping to educate future professionals and express surprise that this model is not replicated more widely. When qualified, former placement students take their invaluable knowledge and understanding of refugees into health and social care settings to inform their own practice and that of others.
